Thanks to all the 65 classmates for working on this Gerry.

As for my part, I will get some music together for the event.  Curt mentioned you may need some help.  I will make up a CD or two of just some oldies, I have, to play in the background, lightly, while we visit with one and all.   I think the Ship has a nice sound system or at least at the last time we where there they did.  Hopefully that is what the group needs as I would not care to DJ etc..

Also, if you need a idea for the reunion try this:
Have classmates bring one or more nostalgic item to show or sell at the event.  Maybe an old magazine, radio or record from 65 or years up to it. Just send out a request for anyone that has anything old they would care to display, sell or trade at the event.  Any money made selling a itme could be shared with the reunion committee to cover some of the reunion costs.  For those that don't want to share fully, we should ask for a small % to go to the group in those cases.  Just a idea to mull over at the next meeting or pass on to those in charge of that type of thing.

Let me know if you got this email and if you think it is a good idea.

Sincerely,

Pete Ellingson

Mr. Hanson,
While registering for my upcoming class reunion in Fergus Falls, Minnesota (class of '65), I read a note from Jennifer Steen Mayer ('65) that referenced a song you wrote for your class reunion ('64). Just wanted to send you a note to say Thank you! for the "walk down memory lane", as your song would/will capture the hearts of all of us who grew up in that era in that "land of lakes"! Well done!! Big THANK YOU from all who have the opportunity to hear your song.
Sincerely, Linda (Bakken) Peterka ('65) and Jon Peterka ('63).

P.S. I'm hoping that our class reunion committee will play your video at our reunion, which is so exciting to look forward to.

Thank you, too, Jennifer.

If you know someone who has not been added to that list, please let them know.  We also need to know what each person wants to eat:  Baked Chicken Breast with tangy seasoning or Roast Beef.  Please do this asap.

If you have already told me what you want to eat, please ignore this message.

Thanks.

Went to a concert tonight and one the group's hit songs is FERGUS FALLS!  ( I talked with the singer/songwriter afterwards and his family had a cabin nearby and he just liked the name). Here is the link:     http://www.hearya.com/2012/04/23/field-reports-fergus-falls-best-song-of-the-year-so-far-new-mp3/

Hey Mary Davenport!! What a super fun experience to have our home town featured at a concert not in Fergus! Did you ever find the song by Charles Hanson regarding Fergus (on utube, just search for Charles Hanson's song)?  It is meaningful to anyone from Fergus "who grew up in our era".  You'll love it! So anxious to see you in August. Much love, Linda Bakken Peterka

Please let us know.

Greetings, Classmates!

I just wanted to post a message, especially to those involved in the Senior Clas Play, "You Can't Take It With You."  I attended the Jungle Theatre production on Tuesday night.  It was the first bona fide play in whic I had acted, and it propelled me on to spend every year since (with the exceptio of the 3 years in the Army)to be active in theatre, acting and/or directing.  I was looking forward to being reacquainted with it.  It was delightful!  The eccentricities of the characters were so meticulously developed.  The production values were terrific, from the elaborate set to the period music and costumes to the special effects (especially the explosions in the basement).  It was poignant, caused me to tear up a c few times, and brought back a lot of memories.  Most of all, however, as I look over the program from our production, I am saddened by the number of those who made our production so enjoyable but are no longer with us.

I am looking forward to our reunion and wish everyone the best.

Bless you all.

Steve Estenson

I received a message from Diane Prischmann today, asking if anyone had seen a Goldwater pin from 1964 that had been on the trifold board with pictures, etc.  This is what Diane wrote:  I could not find the trifold poster collage we made for reunion.  I had put a collectible pin on there...Goldwater 64 that my husband wants to keep...I did not see it on Sat but wasn't really looking for it...then looked all over for it sat night with bartender and even Sun morning with cleanup guy.  If anyone saw it and picked it up would you please let Diane know.

Thank you Classmates.  The time although fleeting was an enjoyable time.

See you in five yeras???

Georgia

Dear Georgia, Gerry, Diane, Elaine, and all the "behind the scene" classmates that worked so hard to bring the Fergus Falls, MN, graduating Class of 1965 together to celebrate our 50th reunion -- a mere two words don't sound enough but, THANK YOU!

To my Classmates, I am honored to have been a part of your class and  thrilled to have "walked back in time" to meet with you once again! My anticipation and excitement were fulfilled and delighted. Reconnecting was the best. I know I didn't get to talk to or give a hug to everyone I wanted to, the evening just wasn't big enough or long enough for that. If I missed you, I'm so sorry. A GIANT THANK YOU to you all for being a part of my life.

Until we meet again, God's Blessings be upon you. Be well. Be happy. Linda Bakken Peterka

Class of 1965 -- Elaine Fick took lots of pictures and she has posted them on the "What's New" tab.  Enjoy them.  If anyone else has pictures we would love to see them.

We discussed what to do with memorial money and Diane is going to check around.  Some people said the paving stones were not very good choice.  We also talked about a bench with Class of 1965 on it.  We have more discussion about that.  We can give money to the 544 Foundation, to be used as scholarships, or somthing like that.  Again more discussion needs to be done.

Thank you to those of you that left money for a memorial of some sort. and we will be extending the website for 10 years.  If anyone else would like to donate money for a memorial, please send a check to me at 1722 Aspenwood Trail in Fergus Falls.

Discussion was made on having another reunion in 5 years and probably for two days.  Again it will be casual.

I am now going to be quiet.
